Brianna Krominga is a Senior Associate in LimNexus, LLP’s Washington, D.C. office. Her practice focuses on export controls, economic sanctions, customs, trade litigation, and other cross border issues.

Brianna has represented clients in both state and federal courts, and her background includes extensive internal and government investigations, compliance with U.S. export controls, and commercial and appellate litigation experience. Brianna has consistently been named as a “Rising Star” by Super Lawyers since 2019 and was most recently named in America’s Best Lawyers “Ones to Watch” list for 2022.

Prior to joining LimNexus, Brianna co-led the court-appointed compliance monitor team for the largest criminal monitorship in U.S. history and the Department of Commerce’s Bureau of Industry and Security’s (“BIS”) corporate audit of the same large, Chinese telecom company. There, she evaluated the company’s obligations to develop a best-in-class compliance program and examine potential plea agreement violations. In connection with this work, she also led teams of lawyers and consultants conducting audits with a focus on international export controls and trade regulations administered by BIS and OFAC.

She has appeared before the Texas Supreme Court and Courts of Appeals in several matters, including presenting oral arguments and authoring merit briefings. Among her successes for her clients, she has won an appeal defeating a motion to dismiss under the Texas Citizens Participation Act (TCPA); tried a breach of contract dispute, resulting in a favorable outcome for her client; and defeated a challenge to the jurisdiction in a matter involving misappropriation of trade secrets.

Having conducted thousands of witness interviews, performed intensive scrutiny into international trade compliance software solutions, and authored investigation reports, Brianna is a seasoned investigator with substantial experience managing and participating in multinational investigations.

Brianna received her bachelor’s degree in Political Science from California State University, Long Beach, and her J.D. from Texas Tech University in 2017, where she was inducted into the National Order of Barristers.
