Former Assistant United States Attorney Pio S. Kim Rejoins Lim Ruger
Pio S. Kim has rejoined Lim, Ruger & Kim, LLP as Partner. He will be focusing on white collar defense and complex business litigation.
Mr. Kim previously served as an Assistant United States Attorney for the Central District of California for approximately thirteen years. He served in the Major Frauds Section and Asset Forfeiture Section of the United States Attorney’s Office in Los Angeles, California. Mr. Kim prosecuted the largest commercial smuggling case in the history of the United States Customs, involving $418 million in smuggled goods and $95.5 million in property seized by the U.S. government. While at the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Mr. Kim primarily prosecuted major fraud cases, involving financial institutions, investments, securities, mortgages, health care, commercial smuggling and customs-related matters. Mr. Kim also has significant experience handling seizure and forfeiture matters. Mr. Kim was invited to speak on seizures and forfeitures to prosecutors and academia by both the Japanese Ministry of Justice and the Korean Ministry of Justice. Mr. Kim has extensive trial and significant appeal experience.
Prior to join the U.S. Attorney’s Office, he was an Associate and a Partner at Lim Ruger, focusing on complex business litigation, for nine years.
Litigator and Trial Attorney Mark Hansen Joins the Lim Ruger Team
Lim Ruger is pleased to announce that Mark Hansen, a seasoned litigator and trial attorney whose practice focuses on complex business disputes, has joined the firm as Senior Counsel. Mr. Hansen’s trial experience includes both jury and non-jury trials. Similarly, he has broad experience arbitrating and mediating both state and federal cases. Mr. Hansen is also well-versed in providing pre-litigation counseling to clients to help them anticipate and mitigate their risk exposure. He has handled a wide array of litigation matters, including commercial, corporate and intellectual property cases, ranging from disputes involving large commercial and government contracts for aircraft and telecommunications satellites, technology transfer contracts, to mass tort actions and trade secret misappropriation and unfair competition suits.
In addition, Mr. Hansen is a member of the Los Angeles County Bar Association’s Professional Responsibility and Ethics Committee, and has given many presentations on legal ethics and professional responsibility issues. He has also published numerous articles on substantive areas of law and has been a speaker and presenter on civil litigation procedure and strategy.
Mr. Hansen is a graduate of the University of California, Hastings College of the Law.

Young H. Park has joined the ranks of Lim Ruger as Of Counsel focusing his practice on banking and finance, mergers and acquisitions, regulatory compliance and corporate governance. Mr. Park has substantial experience representing financial institutions in connection with de novo bank and bank holding company formations, regulatory compliance, mergers and acquisitions, and capitalization. He regularly interfaces with federal and state banking regulatory agencies such as the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency, the Federal Reserve Board and the Federal Reserve Banks, the FDIC, FinCEN, and the California Department of Business Oversight, among others.
